Cold outdoor air and heated indoor spaces can both contribute to dryness. Braids reduce daily manipulation, but the natural hair and scalp still require observation and appropriate care.

Protect against friction

Hats, scarves and coat collars can rub the hairline and braided lengths. A satin-lined hat or smooth barrier can help reduce repeated friction, especially around the nape and edges.

Use moisture with restraint

Choose lightweight care appropriate for the natural hair and extension material. Saturating the scalp or trapping dampness beneath winter headwear can create a different set of problems.

Dry completely

After cleansing, exercise or snow exposure, allow the scalp and braids to dry thoroughly before covering them for long periods or going to sleep.

Adjust when needed

If the scalp becomes persistently irritated or the hairline feels stressed, reassess the style rather than adding more product. Comfort and hair health remain the priority.

For personalized styling guidance, discuss your hair, desired result and maintenance routine during consultation. Health concerns require assessment by an appropriate licensed professional.
